Verify the installation was successful by typing which git -version : 3. You may be left with some dependency packages that also need removal, but the core imagemagick package will have been deleted. Open your terminal and install Git using Homebrew: 2. Then delete /usr/local/bin/imagemagick and it's gone. Cellar/imagemagick and delete those symlinks. If you wanted to uninstall it by hand you'd just need to look in /usr/local/bin for any files that linke to. In the Recovery app window, select Reinstall for your macOS release, click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions. The homebrew sandboxing does a very good job of making for clean uninstalls from your system. Choose Apple menu > Shut Down, press and hold the power button until Loading startup options appears, select Options, click Continue, then follow the onscreen instructions. If the following dialog box gets prompted, please enter the password. If you would like to remove a single version, only remove the file relevant to that version. Move any Python folders that are installed into the Trash. With brew I find the simplest approach is often the best: I want to reinstall something then I should remove it first with uninstall and put it back with install. Step 1: Manually remove the Python folders from the Applications folder In Finder, navigate to the Applications folder. I'd do the brew uninstall imagemagick first before doing an install. It doesn't remove files from disk like the uninstall action does. The -force option for the install action just overwrites any existing files on disk if the packages you're trying to install already exist.
